	N3041 – TOMBUKTU LIMITED EDITION MATERIALS: 17th Century, Dutch Glass, Hand-Crafted North African Silver & Aventurine SIZE: 17” The vertical cliffs of the Bandiagara Plateau are the home of the Dogon people of Mali. In the 17th century they used these Dutch beads for trade. Every now and then Sosoko, a Mossi trader from the Ivory Coast, appears in the Tombuktu, Mopti or Jenne markets with a few of these beautiful beads. They almost seem to pulse with an inner glow. I’ve mixed them in this limited edition piece with hand crafted silver beads from North Africa and Aventurine, an iridescent green stone from India. This is a necklace for someone who isn't a shrinking violet. Someone who is not afraid to make a very positive impression. Is that you? You are about to acquire a unique piece of art. The stones were mined by hand and shaped individually by skilled artisans. Every stone is different. The color and texture will vary from stone to stone depending on which mine or source they were derived from. Being one-of-a-kind pieces they will not exactly match each other or the pictures on the site. I try to balance stones as much as possible sorted by color and size. I hope that you will enjoy their individuality and their handcrafted qualities.
